Licenses are tenant-based and tied to your Microsoft 365 tenant ID. One Pro license unlocks all premium features for all admins in your entire tenant. After purchase, simply activate the license in the extension settings using your license key.

Free tier includes 1 analysis per day with basic permissions, read-only access, and the ability to hide current libraries/views. Pro unlocks unlimited analyses, CSV/PDF/JSON exports, item-level permissions with group expansion, full compare/copy operations (including folder comparison), library recreation, manage hidden libraries/views, bulk version limits, and complete history.

Not necessarily. SPO Scout works with whatever SharePoint permissions you already have. However, some features like site-wide permission reports and library management work best with Site Collection Admin or higher permissions.

Yes! Once installed, SPO Scout works on any SharePoint Online site within your Microsoft 365 tenant. Simply navigate to any SharePoint library and click the extension icon to start analyzing.

After installation, click the SPO Scout icon in your browser toolbar while viewing any SharePoint Online library. The extension opens in a side panel, allowing you to work with SharePoint and SPO Scout side-by-side.

SPO Scout is primarily read-only in Free tier. Pro features like "Copy Columns," "Hide Libraries," or "Set Version Limits" do make changes, but only when you explicitly initiate those actions. All destructive operations require confirmation.

No. Just install SPO Scout directly from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons. No additional software, websites, or downloads required.

No. All data processing happens locally in your browser. SPO Scout only makes API calls directly to your SharePoint Online tenant. License validation may use your tenant ID to verify your subscription, but no SharePoint content is ever uploaded, transmitted, or stored externally.

Yes! That's exactly how it works. One Pro license covers your entire Microsoft 365 tenant, so all admins can use Pro features. Each admin installs the extension and activates it with the same license key.

Pro licenses are annual subscriptions. After one year, you'll need to renew to continue accessing Pro features. We'll send renewal reminders before your license expires.

Yes. Contact support with your current and new tenant details, and we can help transfer your license to a different Microsoft 365 tenant if needed.

If your license expires, it will be automatically deactivated and SPO Scout will revert to the Free tier. Your data and history remain intact, but Pro-only features like exports and unlimited analyses will be disabled until you renew. You can view your license status and expiration date in the extension settings.

Yes, with Pro! You can export permission reports as CSV, and other analysis results as JSON or PDF. Free tier users can copy results to clipboard but cannot export to files.

Navigate to the source library, use SPO Scout to analyze it (e.g., "Get Columns"), copy the results, then navigate to the target library and use the Compare or Copy tab to paste and compare or apply the changes. Pro unlocks full copy functionality.

We recommend thoroughly testing SPO Scout with the Free tier before purchasing. If you encounter issues after purchase, please contact support within 14 days and we'll work with you to resolve them or issue a refund.

Currently, SPO Scout is designed exclusively for SharePoint Online. SharePoint Server (on-premises) support is on the roadmap for future releases.

SPO Scout works best with Modern SharePoint sites and libraries. Some features may have limited functionality on Classic sites. We recommend migrating to Modern SharePoint for the best experience.

SPO Scout provides a visual, point-and-click interface directly in your browser while you're working in SharePoint. No PowerShell scripting or command-line knowledge required. It's faster for ad-hoc analysis and one-off admin tasks, while PowerShell remains better for large-scale automation.
